Hello, I chose to study Japanese because I was stationed in Japan for almost 4 years, but never received a formal education for learning Japanese. My wife is Japanese and we want to move back to Tokyo after a few years in the USA. One thing I noticed that I have trouble with is I'll think about the sentence structure "formula" for various sentences and sometimes overthink it. I'm used to public speaking, but it's new for me to speak publicly when I'm not confident in what I'm talking about, so speaking a language I'm absolutely sure I'm going to make a mistake in makes me shy or at least slower at participating. With that said, it has also become one of my goals to overcome that feeling, and dive in anyways! I'm excited about every aspect that brings me closer to learning the language and conversing fluently. どうぞ、 Matthew
